Shane M. Fizer, 16, of rural Slater, died Monday, March 28, 2005, at the home of his aunt near Rocheport. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 1, at Slater United Methodist Church. Rev. Jerry Geisert will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 31, at the church.
Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to Camp Quality in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater. Born Aug. 4, 1988, in Springfield, he was the son of Matt Fizer, who survives of Slater, and the late Michelle Butler.
He had completed his freshman year at Slater High School and had lived in the Slater and Miami area most of his life.
Additional survivors include two sisters, Ashely Fizer of Galena and Garrett Fizer of Sedalia; paternal grandfather, Jacob Fizer of rural Slater; maternal grandparents, Tim and Linda Jenkins of Galena; and several aunts and uncles.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Frances Fizer.
